Udai Pratap Autonomous College is a self-governing college of the University Grant Commission situated in the northwestern area of Varanasi. The college is constructed on about 100 acres of land. It is an educational institution on the premises and led by the Udai Pratap Educational Society.
Udai Pratap Autonomous College was set up in the year 1909 as a Hewett Kshatriya High School. Rajashri Udai Pratap Singh Ju Deo, the King of Bhinga estate, founded the college.
The institute was restructured as a college in 1921 and renamed Udai Pratap Intermediate College. The college was again reshaped in 1949 and became Udai Pratap College. The college provides an undergraduate degree in Arts and Commerce. Science classes were begun in 1950, agriculture classes in 1963, and in 1972, the course for Bachelors of Education degree was initiated.
